Free skin pattern check — acne, rosacea, or a damaged barrier?
You’ve read the threads, tried the “holy grail” products, and half of them made it worse. It’s exhausting to look in the mirror and not know whether you’re fighting breakouts, redness, a wrecked barrier — or all three at once. This won’t tell you what you have. Nothing online honestly can. But two private minutes can turn the confusion into a clearer picture you can take to someone who can help.
Free · private · your answers are never sold. This is an awareness tool, not a skin diagnosis. Skin care is outside Nily’s clinical scope — Nily does not diagnose, treat or recommend products for skin; only a qualified dermatologist can examine your skin.

What is a skin pattern check?
A skin pattern check is a short set of reflective questions about what you notice on your skin — redness, texture, breakouts and flaking, and how they behave over time. It organizes those observations into common pattern groups. It is not a diagnosis of acne, rosacea, a barrier problem or any skin condition, and does not replace assessment by a qualified dermatologist.
Frequently asked questions
Can this tool tell me if I have acne, rosacea or a damaged skin barrier?
No. It organizes what you notice — redness, texture, breakouts, flaking — into common pattern groups. It cannot diagnose acne, rosacea, a barrier problem or any skin condition. These patterns look alike and often overlap, so telling them apart needs a qualified dermatologist who can examine your skin in person. Treat your result as a clearer picture to bring to that conversation, not an answer.
What’s the difference between acne, rosacea and a damaged barrier?
In everyday terms, breakouts, persistent facial redness, and a stripped or irritated barrier are often described differently — but they overlap, can trigger one another, and can appear together. That overlap is exactly why self-diagnosis is unreliable. A dermatologist distinguishes them using your history and an in-person examination. This tool intentionally groups observations without claiming which condition, if any, you have.
What is skin “purging” and does this tool detect it?
A short-lived rise in breakouts soon after starting a strong active ingredient is sometimes called “purging,” and it can be hard to separate from ordinary irritation — the two need different responses. This tool can note that you’re seeing this pattern, but it cannot tell which is happening to you, and it will never tell you to keep using or stop a product. A dermatologist or pharmacist can look at what you’re using and advise.
Is my skin problem caused by my hormones or my diet?
Sometimes skin patterns are linked to hormonal or metabolic factors — for example, cycle-linked breakouts around the jaw and chin, which some people with PCOS notice. But a link is not proof of cause, and many things affect skin. Only a professional can assess your situation. If it’s useful, the Nily app can help you track your skin alongside your cycle, stress and sleep to spot your own patterns.
Does Nily treat skin or recommend products?
No. Skin care is outside Nily’s clinical scope — there is no dermatologist on the Nily team — so Nily does not diagnose or treat skin conditions and does not recommend any product, ingredient or routine. For a skin concern, please see a qualified dermatologist. Where Nily can genuinely help is the wellbeing side: tracking your skin alongside stress, sleep and your cycle in the app.
Are my answers private?
Yes. Your answers are never sold, sent to advertisers or used to build a marketing profile. Your quiz is free; you enter a WhatsApp number to get your full report and can opt out of messages anytime. If you later choose to track your skin over time, that happens in the Nily app, and you decide what to save.
If a skin change is rapid, painful, spreading or blistering, or comes with fever or feeling unwell — or you notice a new, changing or bleeding mole or spot, or swelling around the eyes, lips or throat — see a doctor promptly. For urgent swelling or breathing symptoms, call 112 now or go to the nearest emergency department. Don’t wait for an online tool. Skin care is outside Nily’s clinical scope; Nily does not diagnose or treat skin conditions.
